If you keep multiple tanks on hand that aren’t currently connected to your grill or another propane appliance, follow these storage guidelines:

1. Always store propane cylinders upright on level ground, away from grills or other appliances that produce flame or sparks.
2. Never smoke near a propane cylinder.
3. Keep cylinders cool and avoid heat above 120°F to prevent pressure buildup.
4. Do not store propane cylinders inside your home, shed, or garage.
5. Secure grill tanks and shield them during bad weather.

Tips for Transporting Grill Tanks

Follow these safety guidelines whenever you’re on the move with a grill tank or other portable propane cylinder:

• Always transport propane cylinders in an upright position to avoid shifting or damage.
• Ensure the valve is securely closed and properly capped before transporting.
• Place the cylinder in a well-ventilated space, such as a truck bed. If transporting a tank inside your car, keep the windows open, and never leave a cylinder in a closed vehicle, especially on hot days.
